Sometimes, treatments for cancer entail physical changes such as loss of breasts, hair, colon, stomach, esophagus or even eyebrows. Some of these changes are internal and not noticeable while others are external and evident.
While it’s normal to feel sadness when you lose a body part, it’s also important to remember that you are much more than a body part. Focus on the fact that perhaps you are alive because you were willing to give up a part that was diseased. What you have potentially done is lost a little bit to protect much more.
